VASA’s Volunteer Centre has been promoting voluntary work, developing new opportunities for volunteering and supporting both volunteers and organisations for over 30 years.

We

. help volunteers to find a role that matches their needs, interests, skills, experience and available time by

- maintaining an op-to-date database of volunteering opportunities
- working with organisations to develop new volunteering opportunities that cover a wide range of interests
- spending time with volunteers and using our local knowledge to match them to suitable roles

. help organisations to find suitable volunteers by advertising in local newspapers and on the national website http://www.do-it.org.uk

. provide information, guidance and advice to organisations and groups to help develop and maintaina good relationship with their volunteers

. influence policy and strategy at all levels - local, sub-regional and national - to help ensure the needs of volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations are reflected

. lobby on behalf of volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations on key issues.

Volunteers come to us from all walks of life and volunteer for all sorts of reasons. We provide a service to everyone.

We work with many different organisations - from the smallest charity to the largest national organisations, e.g. RSPB.

The Volunteer Centre is part of an accredited network of centres across England. Ongoing accreditation is provided through our national umbrella body, Volunteering England.
