Volunteering Opportunities for January (some immediate/urgent) and into early 2016

Volunteers are needed for the following roles:

URGENT Stratford District Sports Awards 2016 – Event Volunteers.  Get involved with one of the highlights of the local sporting calendar by volunteering at this year’s awards.  Stewards and helpers are needed on 22 January, meeting and greeting attendees, signing them in, showing them to their places and generally helping out.

Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District – Volunteer Drivers.  Do you have the time, care and patience to become a Volunteer Driver?  This essential service provides transport to hospitals, doctors and day centres, and is a lifeline to many people.  An allowance of 45p per mile is paid for authorised journeys. Warwickshire Wildlife Trust – Various roles.  Volunteers are needed for the following roles:  Floating Visitor Centre Volunteers, Nature Force, Membership Volunteers, Wildlife Heroes, Survey Force and Pin Badge Box Coordinators.  Get involved with WWT and make a real difference for local wildlife.

Stratford Guild Chapel – Volunteer Guides.  As part of the campaign to bring Stratford’s best kept secret to a world-wide stage, volunteers are needed to guide and talk to visitors, school groups and the public.  Volunteers will work in pairs, be taught the history of the chapel and its relationship to Shakespeare. The Parenting Project – Parent Mentor.  You will need to be able to listen and encourage in a non judgemental manner, enabling parents to build their confidence and engage with wider community services. Commitment 2-3 hours a week for a minimum of six months. Desirable to have parenting or caring experience. MORE INFO AND APPLY

Air Training Corps Stratford – Adult Volunteer/Civilian Instructor.  The squadron is recruiting adult volunteers to join its enthusiastic team.  If you have some spare time to give something back and to provide young people with exciting and challenging opportunities – in return for full training and support – please get in touch.
