VASA’s Volunteer Transport Service takes people who are without their own transport to medical appointments at hospitals, doctors’ surgeries, dentists’ surgeries and day centres across Stratford District and beyond.  The service regularly take people to the hospitals in Coventry, Birmingham and Oxford, and on occasion as far as London and Liverpool.

This door-to-door service is essential to vulnerable people who otherwise would struggle to keep health care appointments, or not get to them at all.

The service is available to anyone who has a genuine need for transport.  We usually require three days’ notice prior to a journey.  We ask for the volunteer driver’s costs to be paid at the rate of 45p per mile and there is a small administration fee per journey.

For more information or to book a journey please telephone your local office:

Alcester 01789 763117

If you would like to offer your services as a volunteer driver we have opportunities in all areas of Stratford-on-Avon District, either on a regular or an occasional basis, depending on how much time you have to give.

You will receive a mileage allowance of 45p a mile for authorised journeys. Your car will need to have a current insurance and, where applicable, an MOT certificate.

If you have some time to spare, own a car, have patience and understanding and are willing to help others who would appreciate your support, please telephone 01789 262886 or email services@vasa.org.uk

Guidance is available from HMRC for volunteer drivers who offer their services to volunteer transport schemes.
