We’re not sure if it was the lashing of chocolate sauce or the tender beef casserole that made yesterday’s lunch club such a huge success!
VASA have been active ensuring that community activities and groups thrive in the Stratford on Avon District this year, leading with lunch clubs and day services. The lunch club in Old Town is fast filling up as people realise just what a good cook VASA’s own Sam McNaught Barrow is!
Our Old Town lunch club is held at Escape Arts in Sheep Street, Stratford upon Avon. This week the menu was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. On it was tender beef casserole (which one ‘luncher’ – Margaret – said it was as good as she could make herself! Praise indeed!) mashed potato with horseradish and veg, followed by rich chocolate pudding and lashings of chocolate sauce with a dollop of ice cream!
Councillor Kate Rolfe popped in to meet and chat with everyone attending and has offered her services for future dates!
We will definately be taking you up on that, Kate.
Sam’s husband – on a day ‘s leave from work – was given the very important role of ‘washer up’ for the day.
If you know of anyone who would like to come along to the next lunch on 20th April then please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01789 262889 and press: ‘Community groups’ for further details and to book a place.
