The Harry Payne Fund was founded in 1939 (as the Harry Payne Trust) by Harry Payne, a Birmingham businessman. He was a man of strong faith – a pacifist who spent some years in prison in the First World War.

The fund supports causes in Birmingham and the immediately surrounding areas of the West Midlands, including the Black Country, Coventry, Warwickshire and parts of Worcestershire and Staffordshire.

It prefers to support registered charities or CIC’s but will consider helping other non-profit making organisations provided they have a constitution and produce accounts. It supports specific projects and will also consider giving grants towards general running costs.

Grants are available from £250 to £1,000.

* Decisions will be notified to applicants within 16 weeks of submission of a completed application form (and all requested paperwork)*
