Small Charity Week 2016, is taking place from 13th-18th June 2016. Our Summer Voluntary Sector Forum is on Tuesday 14th June and we want to help make the most of the day in promoting all that you do.
If you can come the the Summer Forum – details HERE – we want to invite the local press down for part of the morning. If it’s most convenient for attendees that will be during the break for coffee or immediately after the forum finishes.
Now in its seventh year, Small Charity Week has become one of the major features of the UK charity calendar. Events will be happening around the country to engage policymakers, the media and the general public to support in the work of the UK’s vibrant small charity sector. 2016 promises to be a fantastic week especially if they can get the support of CVS’ and similar organisations around the country.
Further information on the week can be seen at www.smallcharityweek.com
Small Charity Week was set up to:
Improve the knowledge, representation and sustainability of small charities across the UK
Highlight the work of the small charity sector to the broadest possible audience
Encourage public giving to small community organisations
Provide small charities with additional skills and support to help them deliver their work more strategically and sustainably
Work with the small charity sector to develop political engagement at both a national and local level
Celebrate the contribution that small charities make to communities throughout the UK
What we would like to do, pre the forum, is to send all the local press a large press release on the activities that all attendees are involved with. When you sign up (if you haven’t already) we will ask if you’d like to put together up to 300 words about your work. We will send this to all the local press (and radio etc) the week before the forum and generate as much PR as we can!
