Volunteers are needed for the following roles:
Voluntary Action Stratford-on-Avon District – Volunteer Drivers. Do you have the time, care and patience to become a Volunteer Driver? This essential service provides transport to hospitals, doctors and day centres, and is a lifeline to many people. An allowance of 45p per mile is paid for authorised journeys.
Stratford SCAN – Treasurer. Senior Citizens Action Networks are local groups specifically for older people, meeting six times each year. The Stratford SCAN is looking for a Treasurer to hold the accounts for the group. The Treasurer will maintain simple accounts and present these at network meetings and the AGM.
Stratford River Festival – Volunteers. Would you like an opportunity to get involved with one of the biggest events in Stratford? Leaflet and poster distributors are needed before the festival and then over the weekend of 4 and 5 July marshals and litter pickers are needed.
Enrych – Befrienders. Volunteers are needed to accompany people with physical difficulties to social activities, e.g. trips into town, places of interest and meals out. Often the people are socially isolated and lonely, with no other means of getting out. A weekly or fortnightly commitment is needed.
RSPB – Events Volunteer. The Events Team goes out to events across the region, inspiring people to support the great work of the RSPB. New volunteers are needed for the team, to welcome visitors to the stand, to run simple children’s activities and hopefully sign up new members. Training is provided and expenses are paid.
Oxfam Stratford Bookshop – Stockroom Assistant. Interested in books and supporting the work of Oxfam? The role will involve sorting through donated items, assessing their value, pricing them up and putting them out for display. Training will be provided and some manual handling will be required.
