The National Volunteers’ Week Roadshow rolled into South Warwickshire last week, promoting the benefits of volunteering and encouraging people to give up their time for local causes. Calling at three venues – The Maybird in Stratford, Royal Priors in Leamington and Clock Towers in Rugby – the Roadshow was organised by South Warwickshire Volunteering Forum. Charles Barlow, Volunteer Centre Manager for Voluntary Action Stratford on Avon District said, “The event was a huge success, despite the rain and wind on Tuesday! Information on volunteering was handed out to over 1400 people and the profile of volunteering locally has been raised. The Volunteering Forum is grateful for the support provided by the three shopping centres.”
- South Warwickshire Volunteering Forum represents the interests of several hundred Volunteer-Involving Organisations and over 20,000 volunteers.
- National Volunteers’ Week takes place 1 to 7 June every year and is promoted by Volunteering England, the umbrella body of Volunteer Centres across England.
