District Council extends support

Stratford District Council is extending its financial support to VASA by a further year.
In 2008, the Council agreed to give a grant of £40,000 for three years. Its Cabinet has now decided to extend this until end-March 2012.
The decision followed a report by officers on VASA’s performance during the first two years of the funding arrangement.
VASA Chief Executive Julia Phillips called the decision “a clear of confidence in VASA and the voluntary sector locally.”
“It’s to the Council’s credit that it has made this commitment knowing that its financial situation is going to be very difficult for the next few years.”
