Cash available for lunch clubs
Added on Thu 8th Jul 2010 by Trevor (Marketing and Communications Manager)
Lunch clubs can bid for a share of a £30,000 pot of funding to support their activities.
Warwickshire County Council is providing the money to help existing or new clubs to become ‘self sufficient’.
One-off grants of up to £2,000 are available to voluntary/community organisations for each lunch club location or a group of volunteers who are looking to provide a luncheon club for older people on a regular basis.
Applicants must demonstrate that they will become self-sufficient within 12 months of receiving the ‘one off’ payment’.
The one off funding will be used to provide a lunch club on a regular basis for 10 to 15 older people.
Customers will be expected to pay for the true cost of transport and meal to the lunch club.
Clubs must be able to demonstrate that the premises have been checked by environmental health, meet basic health and safety requirements and are also Disability Discrimination Act compliant in relation to access.
VASA will be happy to help organisations complete their application form which can be accessed below.
Closing date for applications is August 5.
